Former Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn will be appointed as the Portland Thorns’ next head coach, per a report from ESPN’s Jeff Kassouf today.
The Swedish manager made his career mostly with clubs in his home country. He also has notable experience in WSL with Tottenham Hotspur women and also spent four years with BK Häcken as assistant coach and head coach. In England, he led the club to its first FA Cup final and finished sixth in his first season in the dugout.

As the Swedish coach expects his visa, it is unknown if he will be the acting coach when the Thorns start their season on March 13 against Washington.
Undoubtedly, the expectations for this coach will be high, even though Vilahamn was fired after leading the Spurs to an 11th position in the table, just one spot away from relegation.
