Here is a fact-based summary of the story contents:
Try something different:
Show me the facts
Explain it like I’m 5
Give me a lighthearted recap
The Honor Magic V6 is one of the most leaked and teased smartphones destined for announcement at MWC 2026, and now we’ve held the real thing in our hands.
Has it lived up to expectations, despite so much of its shape and design having already been revealed? The good news is, things are looking great for the Magic V6.
Striking colors
Red and gold makes a statement
The Magic V6 in our hands is the special Red Edition, and it’s spectacular, provided you don’t mind making a statement. If black is your default phone color, then this will take some getting used to.
The 9mm-thick chassis is in a relatively subtle gold color, complete with an interesting motif running down the outside of the hinge, but it’s the red material over the rear panel that’s the star of the show.
Honor calls it a leather-like finish with a suede-like feel, but this doesn’t accurately describe what makes it special. The texture is almost like a feather, and you expect the surface to feel like it under your finger.
Instead, it’s warm and tactile, while still obviously artificial, and I love the way it catches the light and the color shifts as it does. Yes, there’s a bit too much gold for my liking, but the red panel really is lovely.
Open wide
A very special hinge
The Honor Magic V6’s outer screen is a 6.52-inch AMOLED with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, a 2420 x 1080 pixel resolution, and a peak 6,000 nits brightness. The bezels are very thin, and it looks great.
Opening the Magic V6 up to its full 7.95-inch glory is a far better experience than I remember from older Magic foldables, due to the chassis edges being easier to grip, and the hinge having just the right amount of initial resistance to not make it a struggle.
Tested to 500,000 folds, the Super Steel Hinge is completely silent during operation, and has a wonderful linear motion. This durability is matched with both an IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance rating, plus stronger, improved inner and outer glass.
Efforts have been made to minimize the crease, and while you can still feel it a little when swiping, it’s almost invisible viewing both light and dark content on-screen, particularly if you’re looking at it straight-on. I don’t see it as an issue.
What about the rest of the spec?
All flagship inside
The Magic V6 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 inside with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space, plus a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging.
A note on the battery capacity before carrying on. This is the capacity listed in the specification for the model I’ve had hands-on time with, but there is a chance it’ll change depending on where the phone is sold, so don’t take it as a certainty in all markets until release.
On the back is a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP wide-angle camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera also with OIS which provides a 3x optical zoom. There are also two 20MP selfie cameras, one on the outer screen and the other in a hole-punch cutout on the inner screen.
New software features
All about Apple?
On the software side, and in an unusual pivot, the Magic V6 is apparently ready to work with all your Apple products. Through Honor Connect, the Magic V6 will pull notifications from iOS, iPadOS, and WatchOS, so they display on both sets of devices.
Additionally, Honor WorkStation creates an extension of a MacOS desktop, plus there’s easy image and file sharing between Apple’s ecosystem and the Honor phone.
Honor goes as far to call the Magic V6 an “ideal Apple companion.” If you can’t beat them, join them, I suppose? Expect a host of AI tools including Honor’s Deepfake Detection, and Google Gemini integration, too.
When will it be released?
More information to come
At the time of writing, Honor has not revealed the price or release schedule for the Magic V6. While it’s highly unlikely to be officially sold in the US, expect it to come to the UK and other regions including Europe.
When the Honor Magic V5 made it to the UK in mid-2025, it cost £1700, which converts over to around $2,295.
