Resident Evil has grown into one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time in the past few decades, but its influence often goes even further beyond its associated genres. With Resident Evil already having plenty of spinoffs, film adaptations, and live-action experiences, it's not too surprising that the franchise has experimented with more than a few collaborations over the years as well.
Resident Evil's clear aesthetics and incredibly iconic characters make for some easy crossovers with some of gaming's most popular rosters, and it's taken advantage of this both inside its own games and through entirely new projects. While these collaborations can range widely in their depth and implementation, Resident Evil has still had plenty of creative crossovers that have had a long-term impact on their respective franchises over the years.
10 Dead Rising's Zombies Are A Cakewalk Compared To Resident Evil
Even if Dead Rising's crossover skins with the Resident Evil series are a little underwhelming in their gameplay mechanics, the shared setting makes them a natural fit for the zombie-slaying survival series.
Allowing you to don familiar outfits from Leon, Jill, and several other iconic characters from the Resident Evil series, there are more than a few cosmetics and smaller references for Capcom fans to enjoy on top of Dead Rising's over-the-top gameplay premise.
9 Rainbow Six Siege Isn't Afraid To Let Raccoon City's Survivors Shine
Although it falls under the solely cosmetic category of Resident Evil crossovers, the two Elite Operator skins featuring Leon S. Kennedy as Lion and Jill Valentine as Zofia feel like a perfect fit for a more grounded first-person shooter like Rainbow Six Siege.
Despite not affecting the actual gameplay, the operator outfits pay great homage to the characters they're based on, while offering a few additional weapon skins and animations inspired by the franchise that look even better in-game. With Rainbow Six Siege getting more character crossovers like Solid Snake, there's even a chance we might see another Resident Evil character return as a playable operator sometime in the future.
8 Resident Evil More Than Earns Its Spot On Fortnite's Legendary Roster
With Grace Ashcroft's addition to Fortnite as a part of the Resident Evil collaboration rerun having been leaked ahead of release, the roster of survival horror icons has more than a few formidable inclusions. Featuring classic characters like Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and most recently, Grace Ashcroft, Resident Evil fans have plenty of customization options to choose from in the classic battle royale.
Resident Evil's Fortnite collaboration skins will be available once again for a limited time this March.
On top of the purchasable characters, Fortnite also offers plenty of additional accessories, weapon skins, emotes, and other cosmetics to let you showcase your love for the Resident Evil series in style. Even if Fortnite's upbeat action isn't exactly what Resident Evil is known for, it's hard not to be amused by the tonal contrast of the stylized horror protagonists running around in the battle royale's brightly colored environments.
7 Smash Bros. Ultimate Pays Subtle Homage To The Horror Heroes
While Resident Evil may be lacking a playable character of its own, like Solid Snake or Bayonetta, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate still found a way to include the iconic horror franchise through the use of Spirit levels based on several protagonists and their respective games from the series.
Although initially released as a limited event for the Spirit Board in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Resident Evil levels were praised for their surprisingly creative battles. From Jill's level taking place in Luigi's Mansion, being followed by a massive Ganondorf taking the place of Nemesis, to Leon fighting off villagers in Gerudo Valley, the smaller crossover still offers plenty for fans to enjoy.
6 PUBG Mobile Offers Some Surprisingly Fleshed-Out Crossover Event
While Resident Evil 2's collaboration with PUBG Mobile was only a time-limited event that can't be enjoyed to its full extent anymore, the implementation of survival-horror mechanics and cosmetics into the battle royale worked surprisingly well at the time.
The Resident Evil 2 event was also exclusive to the Mobile version of the game and wasn't available on PC during its run.
Offering no shortage of cosmetics for characters like Leon, Ada, Claire, HUNK, and more, the event even added several iconic weapons from the game, like a Minigun, Flamethrower, Combat Knife, and zombie-summoning grenade to unleash upon your enemies. To top off the event, the zombie-themed Survive Till Dawn mode was added, which offered waves of zombies and boss enemies from the game, making for a surprisingly in-depth collaboration despite its limited runtime.
5 Goddess of Victory Nikke Offers Resident Evil Like You've Never Seen It Before
The Resident Evil series as a whole has never shied away from collaborating with mobile games or even gachas in the past, but it's crossover with Goddess of Victory Nikke was certainly one of the more unexpected choices. Offered as a limited-time collaboration event, the anime-style game added Ada, Jill, and Claire as playable characters, alongside a story with more than a few jokes and references from the Resident Evil series.
Even if its mobile gameplay style is a far cry from Resident Evil's survival horror origins, the event still incorporated several Resident Evil-inspired mechanics and enemies that fans will appreciate. With inventory management minigames, creepy mansion exploration, and a surprisingly good soundtrack to match, there's a lot to appreciate here.
4 Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Offers Some Incredibly Faithful Character Inclusions
While Resident Evil's presence in the Marvel vs. Capcom games is more of a primary offering rather than an additional event like you would expect from a crossover, the collaborative project between the two studios was an excellent implementation thanks to its choice of characters.
While some Resident Evil characters made their first debut in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, it was the third game in the franchise that unleashed the floodgates with Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker, and Nemesis all getting a chance to shine. With each character being faithfully adapted with some flavorful movesets that pay homage to the series, Marvel vs. Capcom still stands as one of the best implemented crossovers the franchise has ever seen.
3 Left 4 Dead 2 Made For An Incredibly Thematic Character Crossover
Being one of the few times the Resident Evil series has ever had a mutual collaboration, both Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 received additional content based on each other.
Resident Evil 6's PC edition added Nick, Ellis, Rochelle, and Coach from the game as unique playable characters in the No Mercy Mercenaries mode. With more enemies at lower health pools, the gameplay itself felt more akin to Left 4 Dead 2's run-and-gun style, while also adding in The Wtich and The Tank as zombified enemies.

2 Monster Hunter World Is No Stranger To Great Collaboration Events
While the Monster Hunter franchise has had plenty of excellent crossovers over the years, a collaboration between Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil is easily one of its most memorable crossovers yet. Themed after Resident Evil 2 Remastered, the collaboration offered armor sets to turn your hunter into Claire Redfield or Leon Kennedy, a Mr. X skin for the Handler, and a handful of additional zombie-themed gameplay mechanics.
Rather than simple cosmetics, the well-themed content and infection-style gameplay mechanics with zombie emotes made for some incredibly memorable moments during Monster Hunter World's peak, with the Mr. X handler being one of the most unique in the game for the contrast between his intimidating appearance and the handler's energetic animations.
1 Dead By Daylight Has One Of Resident Evil's Most Iconic Collabs Yet
Even if Dead By Daylight has no shortage of creative collaborations in its ever expansive character roster, its crossover with the Resident Evil series is easily one of its most iconic, with plenty of smaller references thrown for fans of the series to appreciate. With two separate releases adding a total of four new survivors, two killers, and a new RCPD map, DBD's DLC is more than most crossovers could hope to ask for.
The new map is already great for reliving some iconic Resident Evil moments, and it also introduces a new zombie enemy type that acts as an environmental hazard for you to deal with, while desperately trying to escape the new Wesker and Nemesis killers. This already feels like a perfect fit, and its characters offer some surprisingly powerful survivor perks, along with cosmetics that add even more Resident Evil characters like Chris and Claire.
