The DC Universe could have The Flash for a new generation.
@RoyalMaj3sty recently shared artwork of what Percy Jackson and the Olympians' Walker Scobell could look like as Wally West, a.k.a. Kid Flash, one of the many heroes in the DC canon to have carried The Flash mantle. Check it out below:

The DCU artwork comes after Scobell recently opened up in an interview about wanting having dream roles in mind for James Gunn's franchise. One of the gigs he expressed in wanting to portray was Wally as a Flash replacement following Gustin's time with Barry Allen in the Arrowverse.
Walker Scobell: [If] they want to go like a young Wally West, I could do that.
Gunn has previously stated that while there is no active development on a project for the Scarlet Speedster at DC Studios, he is a fan of both Barry and Wally. He asked in 2025 about the direction of the DCU's Flash with the question, "In terms of your preference for people that run fast, do you like them blonde or as redheads?"
The DC Studios co-CEO responded with, "I like them both. I like blondes and redheads." Many have also been hoping that Gustin would reprise the role of the fastest man alive in the DCU, as he finished The Flash TV show in 2023 on The CW.
The DCU's Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" slate has established that this is a franchise where many superheroes are already established, including Superman and Batman. With the many Flashes that exist in the canon, it's quite possible that Barry is far into his journey as the iconic hero.
With HBO's Lanterns establishing Hal Jordan as a veteran Emerald Knight, it wouldn't be shocking that Barry is perhaps depicted as close to his age, which would pave the way for someone like Wally to be set up as the next speedster. Scobell, whose stardom has only been on the rise over the years, has already seen a lot of support in him as Wally for Gunn's DCU.
As there are other priorities at DC Studios, The Flash may be utilized as a supporting player through other movies and TV shows. While the DCEU movie timeline didn't have the best run with the speedsters, the DCU will hopefully have better results.
