Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry was under no illusion — the Germany international knew that FC Köln would be a difficult test for the Bavarians.
That proved to be true as the home team took a 1-0 lead before the Bavarians answered with three consecutive scores to secure a 3-1 victory. Gnabry had an absolute beauty of a goal in the first half to knot the game and propel the squad into halftime with confidence.

It was a very important win against a tough opponent. We weren’t surprised, since we already played here in the cup. The game was very similar,” Gnabry said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “They took the lead, and then the atmosphere here added to the pressure. But we knew that if we remained patient and played our game, the spaces would open up eventually. Then we deservedly won. At the moment, we’re managing to get back into the games even when we’re on the back foot, to stay true to our style of play.”
Gnabry got the starting nod over Lennart Karl in the match, but both players ended up scoring.
Not bad production from that spot, eh?
