On a day when the Oregon Ducks' program received positive news of starting quarterback Dante Moore's decision to forego the 2026 NFL draft and return to Eugene for one more season, they're also set to lose their lone quarterback commit in the 2026 recruiting class.
Bryson Beaver, who announced his commitment on June 25 and signed with the Ducks on December 3, plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3's Chris Low.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBeaver had originally been committed to the Boise State Broncos before decommitting after a 2025 summer in which he rose up the rankings after a strong showing at multiple camps. He rose all the way to being rated as a four-star and coming in as the No. 12 quarterback and No. 174 player overall, per 247 Sports Composite.
After garnering interest from multiple SEC schools after his decommitment, he ultimately decided to commit, and eventually sign, with Oregon.
Now, those plans appear to have changed.
The quarterback room for the Ducks has changed since Beaver's signing, as reserves Austin Novosad and Luka Moga entered the transfer portal. Former Nebraska Cornhuskers two-year starter Dylan Raiola, a former five-star in the 2024 class, transferred in and will spend the year as Moore's backup barring injury.

In the short term, Oregon is set at the quarterback position. And they may very well be set on a long-term basis as well, as Raiola is expected to redshirt and have two seasons of eligibility remaining when he'll presumably to take the field as the starter in 2027.
Despite that, not having a single quarterback recruit in a single class can't be seen as a positive for the Ducks.
